La Torretta Del Lago Resort - Montgomery, Texas (Conroe)

The 11th Annual Oil Man Texas Triathlon is the premier Half Iron Distance triathlon in southeast Texas. Our field limit will be 900 participants.
The 1.2 mile swim in Lake Conroe, the 56 mile bike in scenic Montgomery County, and the 13.1 mile run will take place from the newly renovated La Toretta Del lago Resort on Lake Conroe!

The USA Triathlon guidelines will determine if wet suits will be allowed for official timing purposes. USAT officials will measure the water temperature the day before the race. PLEASE DON'T EMAIL OR CALL ASKING FOR WATER TEMP OR IF WET SUITS WILL BE ALLOWED-WE REALLY CAN'T RESPOND BECAUSE WE WON'T KNOW UNTIL NOVEMBER 3RD. FYI, wetsuits HAVE been allowed all 10 years of our race!
Aid stations will be available on the bike (3 water bottle hand ups) and on each mile of the run. Stations will be provided at swim entry and exit points. Water, Gatorade, energy gels, Endurolytes, and fruit will be provided along the run course. A medical team will be on hand along with an ambulance throughout the day.

RELAY TEAMS:
Each team member should come to packet pick up. You do NOT have to come together, but each person should come with Driver's License and USAT membership information.
NO RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP OR REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE. Please make arrangements to come on these days. USA Triathlon requires that each contestant pick up their own packet with photo id and be an annual or one day member of USAT!

Lodging is recommended at the La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa (race site),600 La Torretta Boulevard Montgomery, TX 77356. The reservation number is (877) 286-9590. Tower suites are $149 per night and 2 bedroom cottages are priced at $249(reduced for 2011!) for a 2 bedroom cottage with living room. These rates are available for Friday-Sunday nights if you want to come early/stay late. If a late check-out is unavailable, complimentary showers will be available at their fitness center. Ask for the Oil Man (Formerly Iron Star) Triathlon. Other hotels to be added soon! You can check with the Best Western and Super 8 motels on Hwy 105.
Run Wild Timing will provide chip timing with all split times, including transitions. The ChampionChip fees are included in your entry fees. You will get your chip on race morning across from the transition area. Complete results will be available at eztoregister.com, www.runnertriathletenews.com, www.runwildtiming.com, and www.out-loud.org as soon as possible after the race.
Awards will be given to the overall Male and Female and overall Master's Male and Female. Age group awards go 3 deep, utilizing USAT 5 year age group divisions. There will be Clydesdale (men over 220 lbs) and Athena (women over 165 lbs) divisions. Awards will go 3 deep in the relay categories and the aqua bike divisions. Everyone will receive a custom finisher medal!
Charities selected for benefiting from the Oil Man Texas Triathlon include: Ordinary Saints, Boy Scouts of Montgomery, LoneStar MultiSport Club, Cut n Shoot HOG Chapter, Woodlands HS Girls Cross Country Team, and Woodlands HS Triathlon Club.
