3nd Annual Kona Eastside Triathlon. Race Distances: Sprint- 600 yd Swim/16 M Bike/4 M Run Super Sprint-300 yd Swim/10 M Bike,2 M Run Swim in the clearest and cleanest lake in Houston, Bike an out & back flat course, and run an out & back fast course. Great post-race party under huge covered pavilion with awesome food and a live band-ALLIANCE, all Beach & Jimmy Buffet style with a little classic rock thrown in!!

RACE DISTANCES

• Sprint- 600 yd Swim, 16 M Bike, 4 M Run
• Super Sprint- 300 yd Swim, 10 M Bike, 2 M Run

The Kona Eastside on-line sign up is closed in order to assign race numbers. You can sign up at packet pickup beginning Wednesday at noon. T-shirts will be limited for people who sign up this week! Only cash or check on for sign ups at packet pickup. USA Triathlon fees are in addition to race entries!

RACE COURSE

Swim in man-made clean and clear lake (very shallow) for 300 or 600 yards. Bike 16 (Sprint) or 14 miles (Super Sprint) on flat roads along brand new Grand Parkway in Baytown. Run 4 (Sprint) or 2 miles (Super Sprint)on an out & back course.

Directions To Gene's Power Sports: From I-10 East, take the FM 3180 exit (exit 800), go over the freeway, then take the feeder road BACK towards Houston. Click Here for Google Map. This is approximately 15 miles east of downtown Houston, and just past the exit for Highway 99 (Grand Parkway).

ENTRY FEES

Field Limit is 700 for this year between the 2 races. Sign up early!

• Early registration:
  • Sprint entry is $65for individuals and $85 for relays through February 29, 2012.
  • Super Sprint is $55 for individuals through February 29, 2012.
• Regular registration:
  • Olympic is $75for individuals and $95 for relays from March 1 - March 31, 2012.
  • Super Sprint is $65 from March 1 - March 31, 2012.
• Late registration:
  • Sprint is $80 for individuals and $100 for relays from April 1- April 6, 2012
  • Super Sprint is $70from April 1- April 6, 2012

USA TRIATHLON Membership is separate, required, and may be purchased at packet pickup.

USA TRIATHLON FEES

This event will be USA Triathlon sanctioned. As a result, a USA Triathlon card must be presented at packet pickup BY the card holder. Annual memberships and one-day memberships may be purchased at packet pickup. One day fees are $12 and must be CASH or CHECK only!!! Note: This is in addition to entry fee. CHIP TIMING

You will get your timing chip on Race Morning! We will provide chip timing with all split times, including transitions. The chip fees are included in your entry fees. Complete results will be published on www.EZToRegister.com, www.runnertriathletenews.com and www.out-loud.org as soon as possible after the race.

AID STATIONS

Aid stations will be available at mile 1,2, and 3 plus at the finish line. Stations will be provided at the swim exit into the transition area. Water, Gatorade, and Endurolytes will be provided along the run course. A medical team will be on hand along with an ambulance throughout the day.

POST RACE PARTY

The Huge, covered Pavilion will be the site of the post race party! Water, Vitamin Water, Gatorade, Soft Drinks, Pizza Rolls from Double Dave's, Bagels, Cookies, and Fruit will be provided. There will be several Massage tables available for a quick rub-down after the race! A live band, ALLIANCE, will be performing for the post-race party, as well!

AWARDS

Awards will be given to the overall Male and Female and overall Master's Male and Female in both races. Age group awards will go at least 3 deep, utilizing USAT 5 year age group divisions. There will be Clydesdale (men over 200 lbs) and Athena (women over 150 lbs) divisions only in the Sprint (not Super Sprint) race. Awards will go 3 deep in the relay categories in the Sprint Race.
