About This Event
4th Annual Clear Lake International Triathlon on Saturday, August 27,
2011 with a new location and host hotel-South Shore Harbor Resort &
Marina in League City, Texas!!

Swim in Clear Lake, Bike a loop course, crossing the Kemah Bridge and
going past NASA back into transition, Run partly shaded course overlooking
Clear Lake and South Shore Marina.
COURSE UPDATES!
We have a new location on the south side of Clear Lake-South Shore Harbor
Resort. This will provide an awesome venue for all of the day's activities.
There will be an easier and safer entrance into & out of the water! For the
bike course-it will be 1 or 2 loops of the same sprint course as 2010 so you
still get to enjoy the Kemah Bridge! Reminder-the course for both races will
turn right at FM 2094 instead of SH 96.
COURSE
Olympic Course
Swim 1.5 K (.93 miles) swim in Clear Lake with a rectangle, clock-wise
course, bike 40 K (24.8 miles) double-loop crossing the Kemah Bridge twice
with views of Clear Lake and NASA Space Center, run 10 K (6.2 miles) out and
back partially shaded course through South Shore Marina & neighborhood with
views of Clear Lake.
Sprint Course
Swim .5 K (.31 miles) swim in Clear Lake with a triangular, clock-wise
course, bike 20 K (12.4 miles) loop crossing Kemah Bridge with views of
Clear Lake and NASA, run 5 K (3.1 miles) through South Shore Marina and
neighborhood.
DIRECTIONS
Take I-45 South. Exit League City (exit 23). Make a left (going under
I-45) onto FM 518 (which locals call Main Street). Remain traveling straight
onto FM 2094. FM 518 will veer off to the right (in approximately 2 miles
after you enter onto FM 518) and you will want to remain traveling straight
onto FM 2094 (also known as Marina Bay Drive). In approximately 2 more
miles, you will come to a main intersection with a traffic light. Please
turn left here onto South Shore Boulevard. South Shore Harbour Resort and
Conference Center will be on your right at the end of boulevard.

HOST HOTEL & BANQUET
Our new race venue provides an awesome host hotel-the
South Shore
Harbor Resort. We will have a room block for the event at an
approximate rate of $105 single/double per night. This hotel overlooks the
race site-swim, transition, and finish line! Go to

click on reservations, then "groups" and type in the code "CLT2011" to get
the room block and rate.
The Athlete Banquet
will be held Friday, August 26, 2011 at 6:30 pm. Special
guest speaker - Dave Scott, 6 time Ironman Hawaii winner and
Triathlon Hall of Fame member. Banquet cost is $20. for adults and $10
for children ages 5-12.
ENTRY FEES
Field Limit is 900 for this year between the 2 races-both races will be
on Saturday, August 27, 2011. Sign up early!
The 2011 Clear Lake Triathlon on-line sign
up is closed. (WE ARE FULL) We would love for you to sign up for Du the Bear
or the Oil Man Triathlon this fall! Please remember to sign up well in
advance next year!
Banquet Ticket Registration
Early Registration
- Olympic entry is $80 for individuals and $105 for
relays through July.
- Sprint entry is $60 for individuals through July.
Regular Registration
- Olympic is $95 for individuals and $120 for
relays from August 1-26 or race fills.
- Sprint is $75 from August 1-26 or race fills.
There are no divisions for elites, weight categories or relays in
the sprint race!

USA
TRIATHLON Membership is separate, required, and may be purchased at packet
pickup.
ELITE DIVISION
There will be an elite division for the Olympic distance race-your chance
to race against Houston's and Texas' best triathletes! Elite Men and Women
are eligible for Overall Awards and Elite Division only-they will not roll
down into the age group divisions.
USA TRIATHLON FEES-IMPORTANT
This event will be USA Triathlon sanctioned. As a result, a USA Triathlon
card must be presented at packet pickup BY the card holder. Annual
memberships and one-day memberships may be purchased at packet pickup. One
day fees are $10 and must be CASH or CHECK only!!! Note: This is in addition
to entry fee. DOES NOT include membership fee with race fee. The USA

members of the relay need to be USAT members.

CHIP TIMING
We will provide chip timing with all split times,
including transitions. The chip fees are included in your entry fees.
Complete results will be available at www.eztoregister.com and
www.out-loud.org as soon as possible after the race.
AID STATIONS
Aid stations will be available on each mile of the
run. A station will also be provided at swim exit and run start. Water,
Gatorade, Hammer energy gels, and Endurolytes will be provided along the run
course. A medical team will be on hand along with 2 ambulances throughout
the day.
POST RACE PARTY
The White Top Pavilion will be the site of
the post race party! Water, Vitamin Water, Gatorade, Soft Drinks, Hooter's
Hot Wings, Pizza, Bagels, Cookies, and Fruit will be provided. There will be
several Massage tables available for a quick rub-down after the race!
AWARDS
Awards will be given to the overall Male and Female and overall
Master's Male and Female. Age group awards will go at least 3 deep,
utilizing USAT 5 year age group divisions. There will be Clydesdale (men
over 200 lbs) and Athena (women over 150 lbs) divisions in the International
distance race. Awards will go 3 deep in the relay categories-International
distance only.
RACE PICTURES
Race Shots will continue to serve as our
official race photographers. Pictures will be available through their
website at www.raceshots.net within a week of the race! Be sure and have
your numbers showing on the front!!
