The Iron Star Triathlon will be the 1st half Iron Distance triathlon in the Houston area. This 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run will take place around the Del Lago Resort on Lake Conroe. Come and be a part of this great 1st year event!
RACE LOCATION & COURSE
Del Lago Resort on Lake Conroe, Conroe, Texas
Swim: 1.2 mile open water lake swim in Lake Conroe. Wave starts, out & back triangular course, with entry and exit at beach area. Swim cut-off is 75 minutes. USAT wetsuit rules will be in effect.
Bike: 56 miles, modified out & back, along farm to market roads with limited traffic on mostly National Forest terrain, flat with rolling hills.
Run: 13.1 miles on asphalt and paved roads, flat, partially shaded and scenic course. Course cut-off time is 8 hours.
ENTRY FEES & REGISTRATION
Field limit is 600 entrants. NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION OR PACKET PICKUP. A cancelled check is your confirmation. NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS. Registration is available at packet pick-up if there are still spots open.
Early individual $95 before June 1, 2003

USA TRIATHLON FEES
This event will be USA Triathlon sanctioned. As a result, a current USA Triathlon membership card must be presented at packet pickup on Saturday. For all others, USA Triathlon memberships will be available at packet pickup (1 year $30; 1 day $9). This is in addition to the entry fee. DO NOT include membership fee with race entry fee. The USA Triathlon phone is 719-597-9090 and their web-site is www.usatriathlon.org to join in advance.

AID STATIONS
Aid stations will be available on the bike (hand up) and on each mile of the run. Stations will be provided at swim entry and exit points. Water, fluid replacement, and fruit will be provided along the run course. A medical team will be on hand along with 2 ambulances throughout the day.
PACKET PICK UP
Packet pick-up is available only on Saturday, October 18 at the Del Lago Resort at Lake Conroe (this is the race site and host hotel) from 11 am - 7 pm. There will be a race expo with several triathlon vendors in the packet pick-up area. NO RACE DAY PACKET PICK-UP OR REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE. Please make arrangements to come on this day. You may pick up another person's packet IF that person's current USAT card is shown.
DIRECTIONS
Del Lago is located west of Conroe off I-45. Head west on Hwy. 105 to Walden Road. Turn right (north) and proceed to the Del Lago Resort. Directions can also be found at www.dellago.com.

Three charities will be the recipients of the proceeds from this event, along with volunteering on the course.
